Havkraft AS was founded in 2009 by Geir Arne Solheim, driven by a bold vision: to transform the global energy landscape through sustainable wave power. For the first twelve years, he worked as the company’s sole employee, collaborating with research institutes and industry partners to test and refine multiple wave energy concepts.
With this hard-earned expertise, Havkraft has evolved into a skilled and dedicated team, committed to accelerating technology qualification and product commercialization. At the heart of our efforts is the Havkraft Wave Energy Converter (H-WEC), based on the Oscillating Water Column (OWC) principle. This technology forms the foundation of all our solutions, unlocking the full potential of wave power.
As we navigate towards the last part of the 2020s, we are preparing for large-scale adoption.
